We have collectively drawn on our 50 years of history, festivals, activism, vision, youth organizing, community gathering, and cultural impact work, to begin the shift needed to make Spontaneous into the Village House that we all long for.

Our 32nd Birthday!
We sit in deep gratitude for the space we created together this past Friday. It takes a Village to make a Village and on March 31st, we all felt so deeply the Village that is Spontaneous Celebrations when it is vibrant and joyful.

Dia de los Muertos
Dia de Los Muertos 2021, hosted by La Piñata and housed at Spontaneous Celebrations, was an outstanding success! We opened up Spontaneous, indoor and out, for community members to build their own family altars, in total we had 23!

The UFE-Spontaneous Celebrations Golf Tournament
THANK YOU for making the first annual UFE-Spontaneous Celebrations golf tournament a success! We raised well over $6,000 combined for the two non-profits.
Block Party
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate the official re-opening of our building and especially to those who donated to help us with the renovations! We had a blast on what couldn’t have been a more perfect sunny Saturday.
Building Renovation Update
We’ve made a lot of progress on our building upgrade plan. These renovations are extensive and expensive. We had $108k in matching fund grants and thanks to your donations we met that goal! Thank You!! But we’re not quite done…
Kids… Together in the Arts!!!
Throughout the month of July, Spontaneous was host for the 6th year in a row to the Kids…Together in the Arts!!! summer camp.
Old Wave/Ultra Chapelle
After a pandemic-induced hiatus, local Indie band Old Wave took to the Spontaneous parking lot for their new album drop. Ultra Chapelle opened the show with some new tunes of their own.
An unofficial WUTE
Although the 42nd Wake Up the Earth Festival was cancelled for the second year due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, members of the community just couldn’t shake the habit and spontaneously gathered… 6 feet apart… for May Day celebrations. There was sunshine, drumming, stilt-walking, May Day Pole dancing, and murals on display.
Building Reopening Plans
As of March 1 , 2021:
-2nd floor will be available for groups of 10 on the auditorium floor. Behind the bar and stage will be blocked off due to construction.
-1st floor community room groups of 6, offices 2 people each. We have wifi and color copier if you need work space!
We have hand sanitizer, sterile wipes, masks, and one of those laser instant thermometer thingies in the front hallway.
